Leadership Team

John Earl - President & CEO

John Earl joined the company in 2009 as President and CEO and has helped steer the company to record revenue gains over the past two years. 

Mr. Earl was previously a founder and CTO of The PowerTech Group from 1998 to 2008.  After achieving record revenues, PowerTech was acquired by Help/Systems International in 2008.

Mr. Earl has a rich and deep background in security technologies.  He has written papers and traveled to speak to audiences all over the world on the topics of security, system management, and software development.

 

Patrick Townsend - Founder & CTO

The Founder and CTO of the company he started in 1984, Patrick Townsend brings a strong background of personal and technical integrity to the Development Team.

Prior to starting Townsend Security, Patrick helped found The Orion Group in San Francisco, which was later acquired by Apple Computer. He then provided consulting services to technology companies and Enterprise customers including Novell, Cisco, Schlumberger, Attachmate, PMI, Bank of America, and others.

Patrick brings over 30 years of IT experience to the company, and over 15 years of experience developing encryption and key management solutions for Enterprise customers.
